This series of mixed-media paintings on plywood and canvas explores the layered meanings of the American flag through the lens of personal identity. As an immigrant and an American, I created this body of work as a visual search for my relationship with the symbol of freedom and prosperity. Each piece navigates the tensions and hopes embedded in the red, white, and blue—examining what it means to belong, to question, and to celebrate. The flag becomes a canvas for both pride and introspection, revealing the complexity of national symbols in personal narratives.
