Earthly Delights

This series of sculptures is quite literally born from the earth. Created during the pandemic in the isolation of his outdoor studio, Aleks Rosenberg turned to the natural materials immediately around him—extracted roots, cut timber, and foraged elements—to construct a body of work that explores the uncanny through scale and form.

Rooted in the physical landscape yet reaching toward the surreal, these works invite viewers into an alternate reality where natural forms become mythic figures. The pieces evoke a visual language that draws on folktales, religious orthodoxy, and superstitions, all filtered through Rosenberg’s signature irreverence and dry humor.

These sculptures question the boundary between the natural and the constructed, the sacred and the absurd. At once grounded and otherworldly, they suggest a world where the forest dreams, remembers, and laughs back.
